Hi, my name is Glynn Southee, I am the personal trainer at 24-7 Treningssenter Mariero.
I have decided to start a blog in line with my work at 24-7 Treningssenter and with this I plan on trying out both old and new training methods, diets and apps. I will blog my results and opinions in order to help you decide whether they can be helpful or not for you.
I hope my personal experiences can help you learn both the ‘goods’ and the ‘bads’ in the fitness world. I will also be providing you with tips and tricks to help you reach your goals with us at 24-7 trengingssenter.
A bit about me!
So, as stated above my name is Glynn, I am 34 years old and I am originally from a little town called Dartford (the birth place of the Rolling stones, just south east of London). I have been in Norway now for almost 3 years. I moved here on a whim and have never looked back. I love the country and people. 24-7 Treningssenter provided me with my first working opportunity in Norway, as a self-employed personal trainer. This year I was offered a full time employment as a personal trainer and a group fitness class instructor, and to assist management with various tasks.
From a fitness profession point of view, I have been a qualified personal trainer and fitness instructor for 7 years. I have been involved in sports and fitness my whole life and have played rugby for 24 years, in England and in tournaments across Europe. Currently I am a player and trainer at Stavanger Rugby Klubb. Together we have taken the Norwegian title for the last 3 years. I help mainly with the fitness for both the mens and the womens teams. Over the years I have participated in many other sports, ranging from Athletics, to rollerskating, kyaking to MMA. Experiences with these different sports has taught me that being fit for one sport doesn’t mean you are fit for another, and also that the human body can take a lot more stress think one thinks.
I apply knowledge gained through the variety of sporting experiences, to help my clients achieve their own goals. I am always learning new things and ways to help myself and, with that, my clients also.
My aim as a personal trainer is to help as many people as I can with knowledge, inspirtation and motivation, and to provide the members of 24-7 Treningssenter the best possible service. An added bonus is that I earn a living working with my passion.
I was a Chef for the first 8 years after finishing school. I was lucky enough to learn to cook alongside some England’s top chefs. Currently I am working on an E-book, which includes some of my favourite (heatlhy) recipes, to help people cook, simple, tasty, healthy meals, whatever their goals. All this, in addition to my personal training course, provides me with a good understanding of nutrition, allowing me to apply the knowledge to the challenges every client presents in the fitness setting.
Recent injury from being tackled in a rugby match forced me to take 8 weeks free from work. I am, however, fully recovered, refreshed and ready for old and new clients. Injury does have side effects though…i have gained a little extra body mass! My girlfriend, Marit, is currently fighting through a LCHF (Low carb,High fat…healthy fat) diet. I have decided to join her to lose my unwanted body mass. So that being said, my first blog on this site will include my opinions on this diet and its results.
So stay tuned! Join me on this fitness journey!
